What is Botox Cosmetic?

Botox Cosmetic is a noninvasive treatment made from Botulinum Toxin. The injectable is designed to smooth dynamic winkles and fine lines associated with repetitive facial movements. As Botox temporarily relaxes targeted muscles, the associated facial lines will slowly smooth and flatten.

Am I a good candidate for Botox?

The ideal candidate for Botox Cosmetic can be almost anyone who is frustrated with fine lines and wrinkles associated with early aging. Both men and women can benefit from Botox, as the injectable is safe for all ethnicities and skin types. People with certain skin conditions, or are pregnant, will be told to postpone their Botox Cosmetic treatment.

What areas are most commonly treated with Botox Cosmetic?

Botox Cosmetic relaxes targeted facial muscles, making it an excellent choice for smoothing dynamic wrinkles. The area’s most commonly treated with Botox include the Frown Lines (between the eyebrows), Crow’s Feet (along the corners of the eyes), and forehead creases. Botox has additional uses, as well, including the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

How long does a Botox Cosmetic treatment take to perform?

A treatment with Botox Cosmetic will take 30 minutes or less. Each session will be performed in a comfortable, private treatment room at the Real Nurturing Family Practice office or brought directly to your location.

When can I see the results from Botox Cosmetic and how long will they last?

The benefits from Botox are not seen right away. Over the following week to two weeks, as the targeted muscles slowly relax, the benefit of treatment will appear. Patients can expect the results to last for three to four months. At this time, a maintenance session with Botox Cosmetic can safely extend the youthful results.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are a unique type of injectable treatment. Injected directly into the target area, fillers have the power to plump tissues, smooth fine lines, lift the skin, and replace age-related volume loss. Often providing instant results, fillers can last from nine months to over two years. For optimal facial rejuvenation, dermal fillers can be combined with other noninvasive techniques, such as Botox Cosmetic.

What type of wrinkles do dermal fillers treat?

Fillers plump tissues and smooth fine lines by adding moisture to the skin and encouraging the body’s production of collagen. For this reason, fillers are the right choice for static wrinkles, or those caused by decreasing tissue elasticity and the loss of natural fatty tissue.
